Founded in 2024 by a small group of coastal and flat water rowers. We run a year-round program for ages 12 to 70+.
Curracloe Rowing Club rows on three surfaces — flat water on the River Slaney, the open coast at Curracloe and Ballinesker beaches, and our indoor rowing gym when the weather closes in. Membership runs from juniors to senior masters competitors; there's a boat and a session for everyone.
We send delegations to the Irish Indoor Rowing Championships in Limerick every winter, race the Slaney through the summer, and put on the Rowathon for local charities each February. We compete proudly across the country and punch well above our weight on the podium, but the club is built first and foremost around its members. We feel strongly about supporting and showing up for each other, whether that’s at 6 a.m. for a hard training session or at any time of the day; we train hard, support one another and do it together.
We're proudly sponsored by local businesses which keeps registration fees accessible for every family in the area.
Curracloe Rowing Club is affiliated with Rowing Ireland, the national governing body for the sport. We're also proud to be a partner club with our friends in Wicklow Rowing Club, and we look forward to sharing more with them on and off the water in the years ahead.
